Drugs and Alcohol Screening

The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) has highlighted the significant financial impact of drug and alcohol misuse on UK businesses. According to their findings, substance misuse contributes to approximately 26% of workplace accidents, costing the UK economy over £4 billion annually.  (yoursafetypal.com – compliance, safeguarding employees, safety culture)

Additionally, alcohol-related lost productivity is estimated to cost around £7.3 billion per year.  These figures underscore the importance for employers to implement effective drug and alcohol policies to mitigate associated risks and costs. (britsafe - British Safety Council)

We collaborate with organisations to develop policies and procedures that ensure those programmes are accepted by the workforce and compliant with legal requirements. Our testing adheres to best practice procedures, including maintaining a clear chain of custody. We also arrange for specialist referrals when necessary and support employees throughout their recovery process.

Health Surveillance

Health surveillance programs are designed to help organizations detect occupational ill health early and comply with health and safety legislation. We offer a range of modular programmes tailored to most workplace hazards that meet Health & Safety Executive requirements. Whenever possible, we coordinate screenings to minimise disruption and maximise cost-effectiveness. Our safety practitioners then work with organizations to further reduce risks, as mandated under the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations and associated legislation.

Medical Advice

To assist your organisation in managing sickness absence, particularly for prolonged issues that may stem from serious medical conditions, you need guidance from experts who understand various occupations and working environments. Our occupational health physicians can provide independent medical reports and collaborate with other health professionals as needed.
